Then he would say: ‘I seek refuge in Allah the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing, from the cursed Shaitan, from his madness, his arrogance, and his poetry.’ ‘Glorious You are O Allah, and with Your praise, and blesses is Your Name, and exalted is Your majesty, and none has the right to be worshipped but You’ Then he would say: (A’udhu Bilahi As-Sami’il-Alimi min Ash-Shaitanir-Rajimi, min Hamzihi Wa Nafkhihi wa Nafthihi.)” ‘Allah is undoubtedly the greatest.’ (Allahu Akbaru Kabira). Subhanaka Allahumma wa bihamdika wa Tabarakasmuka wa Ta’ala Jadduka wa la ilaha ghairuk. This message of this Surah is a reminder that all human beings are in perpetual loss, except those who have strong imaan (faith). Sayyidna Ubaidullah Ibn Hisn (رض) reports that whenever two Companions of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) met, they would not part company until one of them had recited Surah Al-Asr in its entirety to the other It translates to mean the declining day referring to late afternoon. Surah Al-Asr is considered a Meccan surah which takes from the first word of the Surah. Indeed, mankind is in loss, Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience.
